Meinl Sonic Energy 10″ Compact Steel Tongue Drum (B Minor, 8 Notes, 432 Hz, Dark Green)
This drum has eight notes, a small body, and the notes sound good together in almost any order. Most people are making something that sounds like music within their first few minutes.
The B minor scale is warm and a little reflective, never harsh. It’s tuned to 432 Hz, a tuning many meditation and sound practice players prefer for its softer feel. Each note rings out and blends into the next, so even slow, simple playing sounds surprisingly full for such a compact drum.
At 10 inches, it sits comfortably on your lap, a table, or the floor in front of you. It comes with a soft bag, so it’s easy to bring along on a trip, out to the porch, or into another room when you want ten quiet minutes.
You can play it with your fingers for a softer, more intimate sound. The included wooden mallets with soft-wrapped rubber heads give a clearer, more even tone.
