As I’ve integrated the tongue drum into my own rituals and practices, I’ve realized that there are several different ways to use this drum for relaxation, healing and pure enjoyment.
Ceremonial Frame Drum Making Workshop
Drumming is good for the body, mind and soul!
Create your own frame drum using a wooden frame and deer hide. The experience of creating your own drum is powerful and having the instrument to play in drum circles and meditation will enrich your life for years to come! The process is ceremonial from start to finish and truly bonds us to our drum and our own sacred rhythms.
Date and Time: October 17, 2020 from 1-5pm
Cost: a 12″ drum is $135 and a 14″ is $165. The price includes frame drum materials, drum beater materials and 4 hours of instruction.
Registration: required by September 26th in order to get the supplies ordered in time.
At this time we are planning for the class to take place at the Women’s Drum Center; the studio is equipped with medical grade HEPA air filters. Masks and distancing will be required and carefully observed by instructor and participants.

For evenings and weekends, it’s okay to park in the lot behind the Dow Building (the south side of the building), or park in the lot across the street (to the north on Hampden and University).
